Licences and equipment on your vehicles
A private hire licence, breakdown cover, a fire extinguisher in a cab door pocket: all of them expire, usually quietly. List each one on the vehicle it belongs to, with its licence or policy number and its dates, and Autodue reminds you before it lapses and flags it when it does. A licence you must renew before it runs out can carry a renew-by date of its own, so the reminders count down to the day you have to act rather than the day it stops being valid. Here is how to set it up.
On the web
At autodue.co.uk, signed in as an Owner or Manager.
- 1
Open the vehicle
Open Vehicles and click the vehicle that carries the item. The Licences & equipment section sits on its page, under the vehicle details.
- 2
Add the item
Click "Add item" and choose a type: a private hire licence, breakdown cover, or Other for anything else. Name it (for example "Fire extinguisher"), then add its licence or policy number, its renew-by and expiry dates, and any notes. A vehicle can carry as many Other records as you need: three extinguishers are three records, each with its own date.
- 3
Edit or remove
Use the pencil to update an item (a renewed licence or a fresh extinguisher gets its new dates here) or the bin to remove one the vehicle no longer carries.
On the mobile app
In the Autodue app, signed in as an Owner or Manager.
- 1
Open the vehicle
On the dashboard, select the vehicle. The Licences & equipment section lists everything it carries.
- 2
Add the item
Tap "Add item", choose a type, name it, and add the licence or policy number and dates, then save.
- 3
Drivers see it too
Drivers see this list on their assigned vehicle, read-only, so they know what should be on board and whether anything has expired.
Where it shows up
Once an item has an expiry date, that date works like the vehicle's other compliance dates:
- On the vehicle's page and in the app, with an in-date, expiring or expired status chip per item.
- On the Deadlines page, alongside MOT, tax and the rest, sorted by urgency.
- In email and push reminders before it expires, and on your attention feed once it has.
